The entire process begins with the introduction into the patient’s body of the so-called contrast, an agent that allows a more detailed analysis of a possible lesion. In medically justified cases, this stage of preparation can be omitted. The most common contraindications are thyroid and kidney dysfunctions, which can often contribute to waiving the administration of contrast, which contains iodine in its composition.

The electroradiologist performing the test then places the patient in a supine position on the CT scanner table.

The person being diagnosed is slid in a supine position on a special table into the apparatus. It is needed for the examination – it is a CT scanner, which performs a series of scans of the head area, providing data on, among other things, a possible brain contusion or an apparent fracture of the skull bone, as well as any other CNS abnormalities. It is worth mentioning that the described method of examination is completely painless and non-invasive.
